-My friends inspire & motivate me- Q has never had a problem calling things out like it is… (And honestly that’s probably one of the qualities I admire most in people. I’m totally drawn to straight shooters.) But what separates Q from the rest is… He is not blunt just for the sake of being blunt (a nice way of saying ‘an Ass’) there’s actual substance in his words. He’ll call you out on your bullshit but it’s never condescending and never without some sort of words-to-live-by or compliment.
Just wanted to say thank ‘Q’ (see what I did there haha) for the constant motivation and push to stay both physically and mentally fit. I don’t think I could’ve sat down long enough to study and focus without you looking over my shoulder constantly threatening me with more circuit drills and talking shit haha. THANK Q!! “I FREAKING DID IT!!!!”

-VIP- @ Intervention where LMFAO DJ’d and performed for almost 2 hours. By far the best Pool Party of the Summer. ((Watch Red Foo try 3 times to pull off the girlie’s bikini tops…haha))

I’m having serious withdrawals from this past weekend. From our chill-times to our crazy-times… I’m blessed to be surrounded with such great friends.

    -Break Time-

We needed some brain food so I decided to whip us up something quick.

New York strip cooked Medium Rare (more on the rare side) soaked in Olive Oil, Thyme, and Lemon Juice. Diced some tomatoes, seasoned it w/ salt/pepper then topped it off with the steak and drizzled the Olive oil mixture on top. (the lemon juice will continue to cook the beef slightly) it’s missing something green like arugula but didn’t have anything on hand… “oh well!”

::Happy Birthday Papa Nato:: (June 23rd)
I never met my Dad because he passed away just months before I was born. But… everyone has told me I look like him and that we even possess the same mannerisms (like the way I position my feet when I stand)
My Dad died way too young :( One of my most favorite things to do when I was little was listen to Mamang Betty (Grandma) tell me stories about my Dad. I would sit there with the most eager eyes and ears as my Grandma flipped through picture after picture while telling me how my dad was a cop, how excited he was to finally be having a baby (My Mom and Dad waited for like 10 years or something) how nice he was, how everyone loved him and how everyone couldn’t figure out how I turned into such a brat… haha! (true story) The most interesting story of all is unfortunately the saddest… It’s the story of how my Dad died a Local Hero (he has a street named after him) ::So Proud:: But I think I’ll save that story for later… maybe over coffee or something ;) I love you Papa!!!!

-worried- Don’t think I’ll be getting any sleep tonight :( but my lack of sleep doesn’t even compare to what my Grandpa is going through at the moment.
He hasn’t had a single bite to eat since 12pm Friday, that’s 15 freakin’ hours!!! ((I’m ready to kill someone if I go w/o food for like 3hrs)). On top of that, everytime he’s about ready to fall asleep.. a doctor, a nurse, or a lab technician comes in and wakes him up. (but even with the lack of food and sleep deprivation.. he still manages to keep his spirits up and joke around with the hospital staff… “Gotta’ love him!”)

My Grandpa’s H&H (HEMOGLOBIN - oxygen carrying protein in the red blood cell & HEMATOCRIT- proportion of red blood cells contained in the blood) is low, so he needs to have a blood transfusion. They ordered him 2 units of type O Positive, which we were suppose to receive around 1am… it’s now 3:45am and still no blood :-/ (which Vampire do I need to sleep with to get some blood around here?! Haha Jk)
They will also perform a throat scope on him in the morning to try to figure out where the bleeding is coming from… I’m just hoping they figure everything out and get him better sooner rather than later!!! ‘Cuz no matter what happens… my Grandpa insist I take him home by Sunday so he doesn’t miss out on this “BIG” reunion show that’s airing on TFC (TheFilipinoChannel) ::addicted:: haha

    -Robata-ya Oton-
I’m a petite girl, but deep within me lies the heart of a true Heffer. And when it comes to adventurous eating I’ve got “balls” that can be compared to that of a Right Whale. Haha

Robata-ya Oton caters to all those looking to pop a “Culinary Boner”. SD’s hidden gem offers traditional Japanese eating and servers who are more than willing to educate their guest on their exotic options. But if you’re someone who doesn’t like to venture too far from the familiar, Robata-ya Oton has something for you as well. Just ask the servers and they will suggest choices popular with the “timid-palettes”. ((Their Sashimi is so fresh tho’ I wouldn’t doubt it can convert the non-raw-eaters))

-Taka Sushi- We’ve passed by this sushi joint many times while wandering aimlessly throughout downtown SD and finally our curiosity got the best of us.
The food did not dissapoint! (So much so that I wasn’t able to take pictures of everything we ordered) The sashimi was fresh, the Ankimo (Monkfish liver) was divine, hand rolls had just enough rice and their clam miso a must. The standout of the night tho’ was the fresh squid sashimi… which the Chef suggested we eat as is, no dipping, no wasabi, and no special sauce… glad we listened because it was phenomenal.
Their cooked rolls (which I’m not a big fan of anyways) was a bit of a let down. Rob ordered their “Spider Roll” and “Baked Scallop Roll”. They were tiny, average tasting and for $14.00 a pop quite overpriced.
Overall, it was a nice little experience… an experience that set us back a little more than C-Note.

    -Food.in.the.City-

Invited my friend Christie to drive up to Carson so I can show her around my old stomping ground and to visit two of my “most” favorite ladies.

As soon as we arrived, our original agenda was thrown out the window. No shopping, no gallivanting around Redondo beach… Nope, we did none of that… we stuffed our faces and chatted the whole entire time. Gotta luv ‘em!!! :)
